I visited In2Deep yesterday to order a prescription dive mask.

It's been several years since I've been diving, so I went in knowing brand names I wanted to look for, but nothing about "current" gear. Fortunately, dive masks haven't changed all that much!

Tara helped out by showing me several masks and being patient while testing them all for a good seal. She spent the time to make me comfortable with the process.

After trying on several masks, I actually selected the first one Tara showed me. What a pleasant surprise to see it was not among the more expensive options.

Shopping at In2Deep was a very fun experience, as a dive store should be. Thanks Tara ... well done! I'll be back!

We recently had several of our scouts participate in scuba certification at Emerald Bay Scout Camp. In2Deep, and their instructor Jake, did a fantastic job with training. I am not a good swimmer or snorkeler and my husband is great at both. Heading to a recent snorkel destination we decided to purchase our own gear instead of relying on the locations to fit us (Covid and all that).

This place is great. We signed up for class right before a trip to the Bahamas. We needed to get our classroom and fist dive taken care of ASAP. Carrie and the whole staff helped us out. Carrie followed up with us along the way to make sure we didn't miss anything.

My perspective is that I like to shop local when I can. Being a musician, former skier and enthusiast bike rider, I have a lot experience going into these specialty shops. Have worked in a plant nursery, high end hi-fi sale and 4 years as a custom ski boot fitter, I have done my time on the other side of the counter as well.

I left another shop in frustration when they couldn't or wouldn't help a clueless newbie wade through the overwhelming choices in dive gear. I found in2deep even though it was quite a bit further and let me tell you dear reader, given my experience outlined in the paragraph above, THIS is how it should be done. Helpful and attentive without being pesky. Clearly knew the gear well and without patronization led some cluless but not naive newbies easily to purchases they were comfortable with and a feeling of "THIS is our dive shop."

Great local dive shop, much much better than any of the other dive shops within a 25 mile drive. Super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. High quality dive gear, reasonably priced. Excellent quality instruction. Very social as well, with free monthly dive club meetings. Highly recommended for all your diving needs

There seem to be a number of different reviews, all recent by people with exactly three reviews, that are less than 5 stars and reference people who don't work at In2Deep, or in one case, a pool location In2Deep doesn't use for confined water training. All I can guess is that some of the other dive shops in the area are trying to lower In2Deep's rating with less than 5 star reviews, because In2Deep is such a great dive shop and everyone is going here instead of other dive shops. I suggest anyone reading the less than 5 star reviews look at web sites for other dive shops in the area, see who their staff names are, and figure out for themselves where everyone is leaving to go to In2Deep!

Excellent shop + world class instructors. I can't say enough good things about my experience while getting my Open Water Certification. Top flight gear, plus instruction that exceeded all my expectations. Nick, John and Katie were extremely professional, thorough, and good fun to be around. All my dives/testing were done with tremendous confidence on my part because of how they teach. If you're within 400 miles and considering getting certified or moving up to a specialty, they are worth the trip!

This shop is a breath of fresh air -- no pun intended! The staff is so knowledgeable and friendly and the atmosphere is not hectic and rushed. The best is, they don't push you hard on sales and they really listen to your needs, while still educating you.
We recently did a small intimate excursion with them and it was the best boat experience my dive buddies and I have had. We felt well looked after, comfortable, and safe.

Had such a wonderful experience using In2Deep for get my PADI open water qualification. They really went above and beyond, and made the experience seamless and enjoyable. The staff were all very knowledgeable and took their time making me feel comfortable with the whole process!!

I started diving fairly recently (a little over a year) and have done everything through in2Deep: courses, equipment and trips (boat dives and Catalina). In2Deep gave us great advice about what dive shop to go to in Hawaii. At this time I am a Divemaster candidate and I wish to thank everyone at the shop for an amazing experience. The shop excels at creating a diving community, there are many divers at many levels and it is always satisfying to be diving with familiar faces, all friendly, as well as meeting new friends. John, Jr. and Nick are incredible instructors, my wife and I (she has been diving with me the entire time) always joke about those two having gills and 360 degree vision! We started diving in our 60's and Nick and John, Jr. were always supportive and despite our early struggles, we felt that they were rooting for us. They emphasized our initial early successes and always kept us safe. We always were happy to return and improve our performance and get feedback. Diving has been a blessing in the days of Covid, we are diving most weekends and in2Deep has provided the platform to learn diving, continue diving and be better divers- always fun, always educational. This is a family owned business, Mom and son, and they are awesome if you are a new diver, or have children learning. You might find a cheaper facility, but you won't find a safer environment.
When my son wanted to learn to dive, I decided to do it alongside him because I had a lot of anxiety about scuba. My son did awesome, and he recieved a ton of 1 on 1 attention. I myself am claustrophobic, have a fear of drowning, and many sea creatures. I know I was grouchy, unreasonable and panicked a lot. But no one made my fears seem stupid. Everyone was so kind and incredibly patient. We actually live in San Diego County (Carlsbad) and it is Worth The Drive! We won't dive with anyone else.

I work in public safety and was required to get my rescue diver certification and dry suit certification on short notice. I called around to MANY dive shops asking to get my certifications ASAP even pointing out that I understand if they have to charge me more for private classes. Every dive shop I called would not accommodate my time frame. In2Deep bent over backwards to help me. Amazing customer service. Cant thanks them enough. The vibe in the shop is more of a family then a business, which is great. Highly recommend.

Soteris is a great instructor that gave me a great expereince diving with him. I started with some fun freediving sessions and ended up doing the AIDA 3 star certification with him (where I got a lot of small tipps for improvement). Soteris did really go the extra mile all the time in being very focused to give me as a customer a great experience. We did not only have nice dives together, but also had a lot of great conversations. I can only recommend this school (and Soteris) to have a few nice fun dives, some training sessions and AIDA certifications.

Great place to go for scuba lessons (certification, refresher, specialty classes). Tim & Carrie are wonderful - very knowledgeable, friendly, explain everything well and are fun to hang out with. The course emphasizes safety and teaches all of the basics to feel comfortable in the water. I learned so much in such a short period of time. Autumn, my instructor, was super knowledgeable, passionate, and patient. She made the course fun and rewarding.

This is my go to shop for all my SCUBA needs. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and fun to hang out with. Check out their website for their dive calendar. I made a mistake buying my tickets online for a boat trip, which I found out as I was renting gear. But they Cullen and his crew totally accommodated us to make the trip happen!

In2Deep dive centers has such great customer service. I had an issue on one of the dive boat charters, and Beth was quick to respond, mediate, and solve the issue. I'm very impressed.

I got my Open Water Certification here and it was awesome! My instructor, Skip, was extremely knowledgeable and taught me everything I needed to know to feel comfortable in the open ocean. We had a few students that were slow to pick up a couple skills, but Skip paid them special attention and spent more time if necessary with them to make sure they got it down.

I just purchased 2 full sets of dive gear for my wife and I, and was impressed with how friendly and helpful everybody was. Jason was patient and gave just the right ammount of advice. They also have the best gear at the best price. Jason got me an unbelievable deal, and I was able to get the gear I had only dreamed of. The other shops I checked were not even close. I won't go anyplace else. Stop by and see Jason or give him a call and you won't be disappointed.

I called around to MANY dive shops asking to get my certifications ASAP even pointing out that I understand if they have to charge me more for private classes. Every dive shop I called would not accommodate my time frame. In2Deep bent over backwards to help me. Amazing customer service. Can’t thanks them enough. The vibe in the shop is more of a family then a business, which is great. Highly recommend.

This shop is a breath of fresh air -- no pun intended! The staff is so knowledgeable and friendly and the atmosphere is not hectic and rushed. The best is, they don't push you hard on sales and they really listen to your needs, while still educating you.
We recently did a small intimate excursion with them and it was the best boat experience my dive buddies and I have had. We felt well looked after, comfortable, and safe.

I can't figure out how In2Deep could provide a better experience as a dive shop. Their customers become family. The combination of quality gear for sale and rental, expert advice, outstanding instruction, service beyond expectations, and a huge variety of dive trips would be very hard to top. [Updated at the beginning of 2021] I googled In2Deep Diving to get their new address and directions to their new expanded store, and started reading some of the recent reviews. There seem to be a number of different reviews, all recent by people with exactly three reviews, that are less than 5 stars and reference people who don't work at In2Deep, or in one case, a pool location In2Deep doesn't use for confined water training. All I can guess is that some of the other dive shops in the area are trying to lower In2Deep's rating with less than 5 star reviews, because In2Deep is such a great dive shop and everyone is going here instead of other dive shops. I suggest anyone reading the less than 5 star reviews look at web sites for other dive shops in the area, see who their staff names are, and figure out for themselves where everyone is leaving to go to In2Deep!

Friendly staff and good prices! Definitely will be returning for one of their charters after the amazing refresher course and experience we had picking up rentals. Refresher was at Hawthorne pool with a very experienced instructor. We had a great time and feel ready to go for some local dives!!

Great customer service, rental gear and dive trips. I was a frequent visitor when I lived in LA and still stop by when I am in town. Very knowledgeable staff and amazing selection of gear at very good prices. They are my number one rental place when I want to dive in the Southern California area.

I just purchased 2 full sets of dive gear for my wife and I, and was impressed with how friendly and helpful everybody was. Jason was patient and gave just the right ammount of advice. They also have the best gear at the best price. Jason got me an unbelievable deal, and I was able to get the gear I had only dreamed of. The other shops I checked were not even close. I won't go anyplace else. Stop by and see Jason or give him a call and you won't be disappointed.

I got my Open Water Certification here and it was awesome! My instructor, Skip, was extremely knowledgeable and taught me everything I needed to know to feel comfortable in the open ocean. We had a few students that were slow to pick up a couple skills, but Skip paid them special attention and spent more time if necessary with them to make sure they got it down.

This is my go to shop for all my SCUBA needs. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and fun to hang out with. Check out their website for their dive calendar. I made a mistake buying my tickets online for a boat trip, which I found out as I was renting gear. But they Cullen and his crew totally accommodated us to make the trip happen!

The course emphasizes safety and teaches all of the basics to feel comfortable in the water. I learned so much in such a short period of time. Autumn, my instructor, was super knowledgeable, passionate, and patient. She made the course fun and rewarding.

In2Deep dive centers has such great customer service. I had an issue on one of the dive boat charters, and Beth was quick to respond, mediate, and solve the issue. I'm very impressed.

Was in the area and needed to get a wetsuit. Called in about a specific one and they happened to have that, so I dropped by to try it out. Everybody was super nice and helpful with ALLLLLL my questions. They gave great pointers in regards to the wetsuits I've tried on, but I had to think about which is best for my situation.

Just finished my written exam and writing this review before I forget. Although I am delighted that I am closer to being certified and don't have to take more classes, I'm pretty bummed I won't be seeing Jim, Austin and Nancy as regularly as I had been during the certification process.

I swung by shortly before closing needing a last minute battery change for my dive computer and these guys saved the day! Really helpful, cool people. I'll be coming here for all my dive needs in the future.

Excellent shop + world class instructors. I can't say enough good things about my experience while getting my Open Water Certification. Top flight gear, plus instruction that exceeded all my expectations. Nick, John and Katie were extremely professional, thorough, and good fun to be around. All my dives/testing were done with tremendous confidence on my part because of how they teach. If you're within 400 miles and considering getting certified or moving up to a specialty, they are worth the trip!

The entire staff here is AMAZING! They were patient, extremely knowledgeable and they cared about our experience. I felt safe but also had a blast. So glad I pursued my scuba certification and happy I did it with them. I'm only ever using in 2 deep for all my scuba needs and highly recommend them!

I'm not too familiar with the diving world yet, but this little shop is so great! The classroom in the back feels like a family room, and the staff is wonderful!

The day started with a call from a friend to go on a beach dive... I needed rental gear and started to call around to see what is available. My initial search took me to a shop where to say the least I had to start my search again and this is how I found In 2 Deep! Upon arrival, the store was neat, well organized and Carrie is mega knowledgeable and helpful in choosing the correct gear. Equipment is in excellent shape because it is properly maintained (this is my opinion) as the shop's rear work area is organized, all the tools are hung in order, etc. this says a lot about the people who work there and how they work with equipment and people... My conclusion is that I will drive the extra few miles to rent and buy SCUBA equipment from Carrie and her shop.

Future customers - please keep the rental gear in good shape, rinse, clean and treat as your own so we can all have a good experience just as I have =] Cheers !

Just got back from an amazing amazing trip with In2Deep in Cozumel, Mexico. I cannot say enough great things about Carrie, Nick and the entire shop's planning of this trip and how it went. It was one of the best, if not the best, dive trip I have ever had. I used to dive a lot when I was younger and it has been many years without diving. When my new boyfriend decided to start diving, I was really excited. Carrie and Nick helped us get gear and did all the planning for the trip. Nick knows pretty much everything about scuba gear from intro stuff to advanced tech, and I felt really comfortable with his suggestions.

On our trip, the hotel was literally on the beach next to the dive shop! We had a five minute walk to the dive shop which kept all of our gear organized and ready overnight, a 100-foot walk to the boat, with all of our air and a 15-minute ride to the dive sites. Several of the dives (drift dives over beautiful reefs and walls) ended right in front of the hotel. The after-dive activities were great, a beautiful pool, lush jungle gardens and excellent meals. The hotel rooms were large and immaculate, extremely quiet, nice granite floors, a free mini-bar and excellent air conditioning. Carrie had assembled a fantastic group of travellers with all ranges of experience and we had great discussions into the night. AND THEN MY BOYFRIEND PROPOSED!

I'm sure not everyone will have the dream vacation that I had with In2Deep but I can't wait to go on another one with them! If you are looking for a dive shop with a friendly family attitude, intensely personal service and a global outlook, this is your place.

Great place to go for scuba lessons (certification, refresher, specialty classes). Tim & Carrie are wonderful - very knowledgeable, friendly, explain everything well and are fun to hang out with. The shop is great and has everything you didn't even know you needed. Great customer service - friendly, helpful advice - without any pushiness. Whether you're an expert or a novice - it's a great place.

My family had an absolutely fantastic experience with Carrie and Nick at In 2 Deep Diving! My daughters, age 10 and 13, are each getting their Open Water Diving certification. Carrie was very accommodating with setting up a date, very helpful with some troubles we had with PADI's online training program, and met us early on the day of class to help us pick out some great gear.

The training itself was a wonderful experience - my girls had a great time throughout the day. When my 10-year-old had trouble equalizing on her first dive in the pool down to 17 feet, Nick guided her down slowly, allowing her to equalize gradually, and she made it to the bottom. After that, she was generally able to do it on her own each time. For several of the different skills, Carrie would enthuse how the technique was "so cool", with fun names like "freezy teeth." At the bottom of the pool, while waiting for others to get to the bottom or whatnot, Carrie demonstrated doing flips at the bottom of the pool, which my daughters quickly caught on to.

Carrie was also great with quickly sending us the referral paperwork promptly and helping us identify a high-quality dive shop in Costa Rica to do the girls' open water dives to finish their certification.

Carrie also let me do a refresher course while the girls did their training. This was my second refresher course and it was much more helpful than the first one I did 2 years ago.

Overall, I found Carrie and Nick and her other staff, as well as her shop, to be all one could hope for in a dive shop, for both adults and children.

Carrie and Tim are really wonderful instructors. They are kind, knowledgeable, take their time to explain things really well - and, as a bonus, they are super-fun to be around. I could not recommend in 2 Deep Diving highly enough. If you get the chance - dive with them in Catalina for a fantastic adventure.

Also, the store is really well curated (Carrie & Tim really know their stuff and stock what they like) - so you know anything you buy there works verywell and is good value.

I said to my dive buddy's at the beach parking lot, "This is weird guys, I'm not used to receiving actual customer service from a dive shop."

Great new dive shop. Without doubt THE best dive shop on the west side. Carrie brings fantastic customer service and personality to the business, which is exactly what is needed, along with many years of experience from other dive shops so she knows what to do, and what not to do to customers. Carrie was awesome! I had a very short amount of time to obtain my scuba certification for a trip to Vietnam and she was able to get me in a class the same week I called. She walked me through the whole process and made sure I had all the right gear (and helped me color-coordinate it ).

The class was amazing. Carrie was very patient with all of us as we learned all the skills. Our weekend in Catalina was very relaxed and we completed some amazing dives and saw some interesting sea life.

I had dive before with instructors, but during my class to be certified, I had a really bad time taking my mask off under water. Carrie, Tim and Bruce, always treated me with respect, and had all the patience in the world, showing me that everything was fine and that I could do it.
Also, I can't forget to mention, that the pool they choose for the first part of the certification is a great one, and that everything went very smoothy at my weekend trip to Catalina for the second part, since I know this can be a really bad experience if you are not surrounded by nice people.

Wow...really great shop with very cool inventory. The owners are really "in 2" their business. The retail portion of the store is stocked with top quality equipment and accessories. But keep in mind that it's more than retail.

The equipment from the rental department is brand new and top quality and for the same price as other shop's old/salty equipment.

The third spoke in their wheel is classes. The owner, Carrie, has a stellar reputation in the dive community. She can teach all ages, and she knows where and when to go. I would put her in the top 1% of experienced divers in So. Cal.

Recently, I completed my Advanced Open Water, Nitrox, and Digital Underwater Photography with Carrie Ewbanks at In 2 Deep. Carrie Ewbanks and Bruce Casler are the very best scuba diving instructors, they have a passion for teaching and are very informative, and they love to answer questions. They are the go to instructors in my opinion for first time scuba divers and those looking to improve their scuba diving skills.
After I completed my Advance Open Water Certification, I wanted to purchase my first regulator and BC. I had an idea of what I wanted so I contacted Carrie at In 2 Deep Dive Shop and explained what I was looking for and the features I wanted. Carrie gave me her recommendations after doing some research. So I bought the Aqualung Axiom and Aqualung Core Regulator, as soon as I got the new BC and Regulator I of course had to go diving so I went to Catalina for a Day trip, and totally loved the gear it worked perfectly and had all the features I was looking for and needed. I cannot wait to go diving again, now I just need to buy new fins and a new dive computer.

I learned Scuba diving from Carrie, one of the owners. She's a great trainer and very passionate about diving. She has tons of experience, very knowledgeable, and most importantly very patient and will take the time to explain to you if you don't understand about something. My wife and I took the open diver class and hope to take more classes with her in the future.

I noticed a new dive shop opened in the neighborhood and decided to check it out today. I was really impressed by not only the retail portion of the store that had a ton of selection for all your scuba needs but also the rental gear was all brand new and in pristine condition. The owner Carrie is so sweet and friendly and also a PADI instructor that knows her stuff. They plan interesting drive trips and also host seminars at the shop which sound awesome! I plan to go diving with In 2 Deep soon and check out their upcoming events. Its going to be great having a quality dive operation here in Santa Monica that offers so much and wants to connect the diving community with one another.
